From car park mishap to clean finish

I needed Bumper Scuff repair after a clumsy moment left a noticeable mark on my car, but what followed was a surprisingly simple fix that improved the look.

It happened near Manchester Piccadilly Station on a crowded afternoon when I carelessly brushed a low barrier while parking. The scratch looked quite obvious, and I knew it would stand out too much if left.

Later that evening, I started searching online and came across AutoScratch. The site felt easy to follow, so I sent over a few photos and a quick note. I got a reply sooner than expected with a quote that seemed acceptable, and we arranged a suitable time.

On website the day, the technician arrived on time and walked me through the process in a approachable way. First, the damaged area was carefully wiped down to remove any dirt. Then came the sanding, which evened the surface. A small amount of filler was used since the scratch had a slight depth, and once that set, the colour matching began. I was impressed by how closely they matched the paint, it looked almost identical. The blending process followed, where the new paint was evenly worked into the surrounding area so there were no harsh lines. Finally, everything was polished, giving it a refined look. Watching each step made me realise how much detail goes into what seems like a simple repair.

Once it was all done, the scratch was basically invisible unless I really looked for it. The whole experience felt easy to manage, especially since I did not need to leave home. The turnaround was quick, and the workmanship was clearly skilled. That said, I do think this kind of service is best for surface level problems rather than anything too severe. For my situation though, it worked out exactly how I needed, and driving past Heaton Park again without noticing the scratch felt like a small win.
